Leave an adult male alone in a reception area with a toy fire engine on the coffee desk and you can almost guarantee he will not be able to resist pushing it along and maybe even playing with the extending ladders. Most boys never forget the love of their first toy car or other vehicle like perhaps a tractor.

In some ways this early fascination may account for the expression of ‘boys and their toys’ and the fact that men unlike most women always want the latest gadget or newest piece of technology. The natural curiosity of a healthy and well-adjusted child will result in him or her playing happily and making appropriate vehicle noises. Toys are an essential part of growing up and have all sorts of positive results. Apart from helping eye and hand coordination the more complicated and flexible the toy the more the child learns how things work.
